SUBJECT:
Automatic Transmission fluid Usage ATF+4
The gauge is from JC Whitney Its a Cyberdyne Trans. Temperature gauge.
Catalog # 47ZU0266B, $35.99 and the senders Catalog # is 47ZU0271B, $15.99
Temperature sender mounted in the tranny fluid cooling line just as it exits the transmission.
Two more temperature probes are now installed. One is mounted just behind the TB and the second one is mounted in the heater hose as it exits the block.
Back side view showing the gauge and 6 position switches. A 12 position switch will be installed soon.
Parts used for mounting of the probe on the heater hose as it comes out of the block. By cutting about 2 inches from the black hose and adding a "T" fitting with the temperature probe and short threaded fitting. This was a simple install. The probe was originally installed on the air bleeder port where the top radiator hose fitting is. The disadvantage with the probe in the air vent port is that there is a low flow of coolant there until the T-stat opens. In the new location, temperature readings are more precise.
More photos as updates happen.
Probe mounted in the air bleeder before removed.
See below.....
The probe from the air bleeder has been moved to the oil passage just before the oil enters the oil filter. This port is between the oil pressure sender and the filter mount.
Above; Just a 1/2 inch to 1/8 inch pipe fitting was all that was needed to mount the probe.

Below; By drilling open the back side of the pipe fitting to allow oil to flow around the probe. This give faster readings in chang of temperature.
While digging around the toolbox, this valve was found to be a perfect air bleeder valve to replace to temperature probe.
