Oil Cooler

Here is the oil cooler, this helps to keep things cool. The system is by Hayden, I picked it up at PEP Boys. The Cool Collar {the finned aluminum wrapped around the oil filter}was gotten from JC Whitney for $16.95 cat # 81PD4694Y. It gets hot so It must be working to help keep the oil cool. The install was almost as easy as changing the oil. Do check all the fittings about a week later. As you can see some oil on the Cool Collar. Careful in picking out the oil cooler, it may look like you have room to spare in front of the A/C condenser, the hood comes down real close. One cooler I tried was 1.5 inches thick, a wee bit to thick. Ended up going with a thinner cooler.

 

I have since removed the cooler. I think it may have been putting a strain on the A/C unit with the heat from the oil cooler blowing over the condenser. A/C is blowing colder with out it. A;so the oil PSI is a little higher according the the gauge.
